Green Day is one of the best bands around, and many people can back up that claim. For many years, the trio has provided fans good music, and in 2005, they made history by releasing what Kerrang! had claimed to be 'the best show on earth': Bullet In A Bible. Filming full concert footage from their performance in England, plus a documentary, and anyone could easily agree about what Kerrang! said. We can't blame ourselves to actually agree with Kerrang! and half a dozen rock publications. Green Day is, after all, Green Day: the band with Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool. Oh, and did we mention that Green Day is also The Foxboro Hot Tubs and probably even the Network?
Even if the release was three years ago, Bullet In A Bible is still very much an interesting project to watch. Starting from the famous American Idiot to the heart-rending, 'everyone's-graduation-song' Good Riddance [Time of Your Life], Bullet In A Bible has more than enough to satisfy every Green Day fan's hunger. Even the untired-and-still-alive classic from January 1995, Basket Case, is here.
Bullet In A Bible is a DVD, we know that already. But the live album is also packaged with a 14-track disc of all their live performances in the DVD, if you prefer to listen to them instead of watching them. The wild, crazy Green Day attitude is showcased in the DVD, but there are also performances that actually capture your heart and want to make you cry (like Wake Me Up When September Ends, where Billie Joe visibly cries).
To make it short and sweet, Bullet In A Bible is more than proof that Green Day is still a force to be reckoned with.
